Nebraska got some sun but not a victory in the first of four days of beach volleyball competition Thursday in Honolulu.
Second-ranked USC defeated Nebraska 4-1. The Huskers also played a pair of 25-minute exhibitions against Hawaii Pacific and Chaminade.
The No. 3 team of Annika Albrecht and Olivia Boender picked up the Huskers' lone victory against the Trojans. They defeated Nicolette Martin and Allie Wheeler 21-13, 15-21, 15-10. Boender and Albrecht went 3-0, beating their exhibition opponents earlier in the day.
