Nebraska's Tristen Edwards and Lindsey Walljasper received weekly Big Ten softball honors after impressive performances in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Edwards was named Big Ten player of the week after hitting 7-for-12 with five homers, 14 RBIs and eight runs scored in a four-game stretch. The junior shortstop tied a single-game school record for RBIs (eight) in Sunday's 16-2 win against Pittsburgh.
Walljasper contributed at the plate and in the circle. The Manteca, California, native went 3-for-9 with eight RBIs, two homers and eight runs scored, while picking up two wins in the circle.
