Eugene, Ore. -- Shunya Maruyama extended his winning streak to three matches for a team-best 4-2 overall singles record, but the Nebraska men's tennis team (1-6, 0-0 Big Ten) struggled against the Oregon Ducks (8-2, 0-0 Pac-12) in a 6-1 loss at the UO Student Tennis Center on Sunday morning.
The freshman from Nagano, Japan, defeated Jesper Klov-Nilsson, 7-6 (4), 6-1, at the No. 6 spot for the Huskers' sole win of the match. Maruyama now holds an 11-6 overall singles record, after posting a 7-4 mark in the fall.
Nebraska and Oregon started off the day with doubles competition.
