Lincoln, Neb. - Samantha Alicea secured the fourth and final point for the Huskers as the Nebraska women's tennis team (13-9, 6-4 Big Ten) defeated the Michigan State Spartans (9-11, 1-8 Big Ten) 4-1 at the Dillon Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
Competition started with doubles play. The No. 3 team of Ellie Kuckelman and Alicea started the Huskers off strong with a 6-2 win over MSU's Nicole Stephens and Tia Mukherjee. At Court One, Kristina Novak and Maja Makoric recorded their 14th-straight win of the season as they defeated MSU's Mary Lewis and Maja Pietrowicz, 6-2 and clinched the doubles point for the Huskers.
