For those into crunching numbers, Nebraska men's basketball coach Tim Miles gave an example Monday night of how the Huskers use data to piece together their non-conference slate to give themselves the best chance possible of earning a NCAA bid.
With the tools the Huskers use, Miles explained, NU's coaching staff was able to infer that if Nebraska can win eight non-conference games, and go 11-9 in Big Ten play, that should be enough to earn a No. 5 or No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
That's enough to make a Husker fan's heart skip a beat.
