The Elkhorn South graduate held down the Georgia Tech offense as the Nebraska softball team dug out of an early hole to beat the Yellow Jackets 7-3 on Saturday in Atlanta.
Georgia Tech (1-5) sent all nine batters to the plate during the first inning, the damage coming off the bat of Crosby Huckabay, who hit a three-run homer off of Sydney McLeod.
Ferrell, who earned her third win of the young season, entered the circle later in the first inning and pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings. She gave up only two hits, struck out two and lowered her earned-run average to 2.
