Lincoln – The Husker football team continued preparations for Saturday’s game at Purdue with a two-hour practice in the Hawks Championship Center and the Ed and Joyanne Gass Practice Fields Tuesday afternoon.
With a strong possibility of rain on Saturday in West Lafayette, the Huskers spent portions of today’s workout with wet footballs to get accustomed to a slicker and heavier ball.
“We are trying to get a little bit of a taste of that wet ball,” Offensive Coordinator Danny Langsdorf said. “We were dunking those balls in cold water just to get used to the feel and handling the ball, throwing it and taking a snap so we make sure we got some work.
