Huskers come alive in the 11th to snap skid

MANHATTAN, Kan. — The smoke coming from the State of Kansas wasn't the never-ending grass burns, but the Nebraska offense erupting in the 11th inning for a 5-1 victory over Kansas State Tuesday night at Tointon Family Stadium.

Nebraska scored four runs in the top of the 11th inning to even the series with KSU this season and end a five-game losing streak.

Nebraska sophomore first baseman Scott Schreiber singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch to open the 11th.

Jake Meyers then carefully placed a sacrifice bunt to the left side of the pitcher's mound and KSU reliever Lucas Benenati bobbled the ball, leaving Schreiber on third and Meyers on first with no outs.
