Nebraska’s latest addition to its 2018 class came from right in its own back yard.
Lincoln Southwest long snapper Cameron Pieper tweeted Saturday evening – less than an hour before the Huskers kicked off against No. 9 Ohio State at Memorial Stadium, that he gave a verbal commitment to Mike Riley’s team.
Pieper, who is joining the program as a preferred walk-on, plays tight end for Southwest, but has known for some time that his future is in snapping the ball.
“I’m going to as many Nebraska games as I can,” he told the Journal Star in August.
