On Thursday night, the #7 Nebraska Huskers Women’s Volleyball team returned to the scene of their 2015 National Championship, the newly renamed CHI Health Center in Omaha, to take on the surging #14 Creighton Blue Jays. Though the Jays started hot, the Huskers ultimately prevailed 3-2 (22-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-22, 15-10).
The intrigue around this match went beyond just a rising Creighton program against a young, inexperienced Husker squad. The match also featured former Malcolm Clippers and VCNebraska alums Hayley Densberger, Husker DS, and Jaela Zimmerman, Blue Jay OH meeting for the first time on this stage.
