Husker tracksters turn to the little things in final tune-up before Big Tens

Saturday’s Nebraska Invitational wasn’t a day for personal records.

With the Big Ten Outdoor Championships next weekend, the Huskers focused more on resting and improving the little things rather than besting their previous marks.

Freshman pole vaulter Andy Jacobs didn’t get the memo however.

Jacobs set a new outdoor PR with a height of 13 feet, 9 inches, besting her second-place Big Ten Indoor Championship mark by two inches, to climb into fifth place all time in the Nebraska record books.

“I’m really excited about that mark, everything was just clicking really well today,” Jacobs said.
