Long Island Lutheran, a small private Christian school in Brookville, New York, had just 21 players out for football this fall, played some games with 17 available and won just once in eight tries.
Suffice it to say, Messiah Swinson stuck out like a sore thumb. Just ask his position coach, Kyle Geed.
“When he shakes your hand, his hands reach your forearm,” Geed told the Journal Star on Monday. “I’m 6-foot-3, it’s not often I feel small around someone.”
Swinson probably imparts that feeling on most. The tight end and Nebraska prospect is 6-8 and Geed said he’s up to 254 pounds.
