Husker standout Romeo will consider transferring

Nebraska sophomore guard Natalie Romeo, who was one of the best three-point shooters in the country this season, says she’s considering transferring to a new school after this week’s news that Connie Yori is no longer head coach.

Romeo told the Journal Star on Friday that she’s been granted permission to talk with other schools, and has already been contacted by a school from the West Coast. Romeo is from Martinez, California.

Romeo was the second-leading scorer on the team this season, averaging 16.0 points per game.

“I committed to Coach Yori as a senior (in high school), and it’s really tough that she’s no longer going to be our coach,” Romeo said.
