The Nebraska volleyball program unveiled some more championship banners to start its Red-White scrimmage on Saturday, and then continued its work on trying to have another good season.
They played a three-set match, with the Red team winning 2-1 — 25-19, 25-17, 20-25. There was a crowd of 7,965 at the Devaney Center, making it the first time the scrimmage has been sold out. Before the match, fans were still outside trying to buy tickets.
The Red team consisted of the returning starters and the players with a good chance to be one: setter Nicklin Hames, outside hitters Mikaela Foecke and Sami Slaughter, middle blockers Lauren Stivrins and Callie Schwarzenbach, right-side hitter Jazz Sweet, libero Kenzie Maloney and defensive specialist Megan Miller.
