Husker recruits have opportunity to play in Shrine Bowl if they choose

This year's Shrine Bowl might still include a Husker scholarship recruit or two after all.

Chris Walker of Lincoln East, Jaylin Bradley of Bellevue West and Austin Allen of Aurora — the three in-state Husker scholarship football players — originally declined invitations to play in the June 3 Shrine Bowl under the belief they were to report to the Husker program the day before.

So the Shrine Bowl filled its 35-man teams for the game, including four Husker walk-ons: Ethan Cox of Blair and Jordan Paup of Central City on the North team, and Hunter Miller of Cross County and Trent Hixson of Omaha Skutt on the South team.
