Besides beating Wayne State 75-40 Thursday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena, the Nebraska men’s basketball team accomplished its two main goals.
With the regular-season opener looming Tuesday, the Huskers trailed for all of 25 seconds against the Division II Wildcats, an outfit that went 14-17 last season. It was cruise to the finish line most of the second half, even if it wasn’t the most aesthetically pleasing evening of basketball.
Nebraska finished the first half 2 for 16 from three-point range while shooting 34 percent from the floor. James Palmer Jr. was 1 for 6 and 0 for 4 from three in the opening 20 minutes while Isaac Copeland was 2 for 8 and 0 for 3.
