Sounds easy enough — until you're standing at home plate facing one of college baseball's best pitchers, as Hallmark did last week against second-ranked Oregon State.
"You go up against a guy like (Luke) Heimlich throwing 94 miles per hour with a 'plus' curveball," said Hallmark, a Nebraska true freshman infielder/outfielder. "I mean, you don't see anything like that in high school."
Hallmark, though, was 2-for-4 against Oregon State in that game, part of a strong start to his college career. Entering Nebraska's weekend series at Wichita State, he's 8-for-25 at the plate (.320) with two doubles and five RBIs.
