Minnesota put a scare into Nebraska across halftime when it scored 22 points to turn a breezy four-score lead into a 28-22 battle midway through the third quarter.
The Huskers, of course, went on to tally four of the game’s final five scores and pull away to a comfortable, big-play-filled 53-28 victory, but many perhaps left Memorial Stadium still feeling uneasy about Erik Chinander’s defense.
Really, the past two weeks have followed at least somewhat similar tracks. The Huskers managed to hold off the Gophers – and did so emphatically – a week after collapsing late against Northwestern.
