One of the stats that jumped off the page after Saturday’s Red-White Spring Game at Memorial Stadium was the number of rush attempts for the winning Red team.
Led by quarterbacks Tristan Gebbia and Adrian Martinez, the Red rushed on 50 of 80 snaps (62.5 percent).
Maybe most interesting was Martinez getting credited with 14 carries while splitting repetitions almost dead even with Gebbia — a quick count had the early enrollee from Fresno, California, at 42 snaps.
Quarterbacks, though, have never averaged more than 11.4 carries per game. That mark came not from Ducks Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, but in 2016 at UCF, split between McKenzie Milton, Justin Holman and Nick Patti.
