Last week, after a disappointing loss to Purdue, Nebraska defensive end Jack Gangwish went into the stands in West Lafayette, Indiana, to thank Nebraska fans for attending the game.
On Saturday, after Nebraska upset No. 7 Michigan State 39-38 at Memorial Stadium, it was a much different scene.
About 10 minutes after the game ended, Gangwish was still walking around the field. He said he didn’t cry, but he had to be close. Then he celebrated at midfield with Josh Banderas. Later, Gangwish worked the fence line like a politician on his way off the field, slapping hands with fans.
