Husker DBs and receivers battling in heat; newcomer Mike Williams impresses Bootle

Dicaprio Bootle, a sophomore cornerback, doesn’t sound like he would dispute that notion.

“Man, the receivers are doing great right now,” the Miami native said earlier this week, referring to summer workouts. “They really push you. You know there’s a lot of new guys coming in to help and a lot of old guys returning. I love the battles. I love that all the receivers bring a different attribute to the table. Some of the guys are quicker and faster than others, and some are more physical than others.”

A 5-foot-10, 175-pounder, Williams joined the team in January after helping lead East Mississippi Community College to the 2017 NJCAA championship.
