Kelly Hunter did some hitting back when she was playing high school volleyball at Papillion-La Vista South, but playing in college, it’s mostly her trying to put up a good set for one of the hitters on the Nebraska volleyball team.
But she still gets the chance to thump a volleyball when she’s serving, and she’s glad she does.
Serving is probably one of the underappreciated parts about the play of Hunter, a senior setter who has helped lead the Huskers to conference and national championships during the past two seasons. It wasn’t underappreciated on Wednesday, when Hunter served a career-best four ace serves in the Huskers’ win against Maryland.
