The coach wasn't surprised in the slightest when he heard the news. Tre Bryant is playing as a true freshman? Yeah, that sounds like a repeat episode to him.
The Husker true freshman running back was also the first freshman who played on the varsity team for Scott Pingel at Christian Brothers College High School, one of the best programs in the state of Missouri.
It's not just football that drives Bryant, the coach thinks. It's competition in general.
"It's whatever you put him in front of. ... He's just one of those guys that wants to play at the highest level and show that he belongs," Pingel said.
