IOWA CITY, Iowa — Sparked by a pair of momentum-swinging plays on special teams, Nebraska put itself in position to stun Iowa on Black Friday at Kinnick Stadium.
But the Hawkeyes found a way. They converted on fourth-and-8 from the Nebraska 37-yard line and Miguel Recinos connected for a 41-yard field goal as time expired to lift Iowa to a 31-28 win.
The Huskers trailed 28-13 in the fourth quarter, but Adrian Martinez engineered two scoring drives — including a 98-yarder — to tie the game at 28-28 with 3:22 remaining.
It appeared like the Huskers and Hawkeyes were headed for overtime.
