Having written memorable story, Husker women look to add another chapter in Austin

Some of the best stories are the ones that are unexpected, and that would be true of the Nebraska women’s basketball team this season.

Most people — maybe all — couldn’t have imagined a year like this for the Huskers, a 21-win season that now has them playing in the NCAA Tournament.

A review of why this was unexpected: Two years ago Connie Yori resigned at the end of a rough season. One of the Huskers’ best players, Natalie Romeo, and two of the top recruits were soon gone, too.
