Freshman Sam Haiby scored 16 points and sophomore Taylor Kissinger added 14 points to lead the Nebraska women’s basketball team to a 79-74 victory against Penn State on Saturday in State College, Pennsylvania.
Haiby was a big reason why Nebraska held on for the win after giving up a 14-point lead in the third quarter. Haiby scored 12 of Nebraska’s 22 points in the fourth quarter, including going 10 for 10 on free throws in the quarter.
Kissinger helped Nebraska get that big lead by making each of her first three-point attempts of the game. But her fourth three-pointer was the biggest, coming in the fourth quarter after Penn State had cut its deficit to 65-63 with five minutes left in the game.
