William Gleason scored a singles victory over Northwestern's Nick Brookes, but it was not enough as the Nebraska men's tennis team (1-12, 1-12 Big Ten) came up short on Friday afternoon, falling to the No. 45 Northwestern Wildcats (11-5, 10-4 Big Ten) by a final score of 4-1 at the Dillon Tennis Center.
The match began with doubles play. At the No. 1 spot, the No. 7 duo in the country of Nick Brookes and Simen Bratholm topped Victor Moreno Lozano and Albert Sprlak-Puk, 2-6. At No. 2, Nic Wiedenhorn and Shunya Maruyama kept it close, but lost, 4-6, to give the doubles point to the Wildcats.
