Fyfe in as Nebraska QB with Armstrong sidelined

Junior Ryker Fyfe is set to start at quarterback for Nebraska on Saturday in place of injured starter Tommy Armstrong Jr. as the Cornhuskers visit Purdue (noon ET, ESPNU).

Coach Mike Riley made the announcement Thursday at the completion of practice after Armstrong missed a fourth consecutive workout with his right foot in a boot. He aggravated a foot injury Saturday in a 30-28 loss to Northwestern.

Armstrong had started 22 consecutive games for Nebraska (3-5, 1-3 Big Ten), which previously had never lost more than five games before Nov.
