Frosted Flakes: Stories of Lazy to Extraordinary

Life around the ranch is quiet. Which is nice.

I have been trying to plant a garden. Which hasn’t been nice. It is a rainy and cold spring here in Nebraska.

I did manage to scratch out a few rows and get some cool-season crops plants - carrots were one.

Let’s rewind a bit.

Last year, the rabbits were a scourge in the garden. I placed my garden right next to an area of the ranch that isn’t grazed and has a lot of trees. Moving it is not an option as it is too large and has its own infrastructure such as a 3 strand barbed wire fence (cows used to be my worst garden pest), water, greenhouse, etc.
