A rush of storm cells led to the cancellation of the Nebraska-Akron game Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Lightning never relented, and the contest was called off shortly before 10 p.m.

"We're just disappointed," Frost said Monday. "We got all dressed up for nothing. They wanted to play. Guys were yelling out, 'Let's go play in the Hawks (Championship Center),' which would have been epic.

"We're (our staff) snake-bit. This is the third year in a row that we've (had a game canceled)."

Nebraska appeared ready to have the resources in place for a Sunday game, but Akron was facing challenges in room-and-board accommodations and did not agree to the Sunday option.
