I wrote the morning after the blowout win over Northwestern that there was a feeling in the air at Memorial Stadium that hasn’t been there in quite some time. Well maybe it has never been there before.
When you are a program that is used to winning, and actually winning comfortably, then it’s hard to enjoy games like the win against Northwestern.
However, when you have been dragged through the mud for the better part of a decade then something starts to simmer beneath the surface. It is just waiting, and waiting to be released.
I think that start to the Northwestern game was the turning of the relief valve.
