“Great moments are born from great opportunities.”
That’s a great line from a great hockey movie but it applies tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 p.m. when Nebraska plays UCLA.
Nebraska has not been to a bowl game since going in 2016. That is seven seasons which is the longest current drought in power five football.
As we know, Nebraska currently sits at 5-3, with three losses against Top 25 teams. UCLA on the other hand is sitting at 2-5. One might feel good about the game on Saturday but we should point out that UCLA’s losses are to:
- #13 Indiana (UCLA played better against the Hoosiers than the Huskers did)
- #16 LSU
- #1 Oregon
- #3 Penn State, and
- Minnesota
So while we see a record of 2-5, I think we need to be ready for a dog fight tomorrow afternoon and that’s why Nebraska fans need to bring it like they did to Colorado.
