Friday Flakes: Is Nebraska Football’s Memorial Stadium One of the Hardest Places for Opponents to Play? EA Sports Says No.

I remember growing up through the 90s and the 2000s and you would always hear about the great atmosphere at Memorial Stadium. It was difficult for opposing teams to come in and get a win.

That veneer has slowly been chipped away. I might argue that the first blow to the idea that Nebraska is a difficult place to play was in a win.

In 1998, Nebraska beat Louisiana Tech 56-27. However, Troy Edwards ended up setting a NCAA record with 405 yards receiving for Louisiana Tech.

This is when playing at Memorial Stadium might have started to not look so daunting.
