Nebraska track and field senior Erika Freyhof ran the second-fastest outdoor 5,000 meters in Nebraska school history to lead the Huskers as they competed at both the Billy Hayes Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana and the M City Classic in Minneapolis on Friday.
Freyhof finished her race in sixth place with a time of 16:18.98, which was an outdoor personal best by 20 seconds and the No. 2 time in school history. Only Sammie Resh Gdowski holds a faster outdoor 5,000 meters time - 15:45.29 in 1990.
