A pair of incoming freshmen combined to drive in four runs to lead the Red squad to a 5-2 win against the White team in the Nebraska Red-White softball scrimmage Friday at Bowlin Stadium.
Millard South graduate Payton Huscroft went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Elkhorn South grad Olivia Ferrell drove in three runs for the Red squad.
Regan Mergele started in the circle for the Reds, and the junior college transfer struck out three over three innings, while limiting the White team to no hits. Ferrell struck out four in three innings.
Alyvia Simmons went 2-for-2 with two runs for the Red team.
