Former Husker Haanif Cheatham helped team Big Ten/MAC take home first place and a $50,000 grand prize in the Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship on Sunday in Indianapolis.
Cheatham's four-man team included Northern Illinois' Eugene German, Ball State's Tahjai Teague and Ohio State's Andre Wesson, as the event featured both 2020 and 2021 graduates. Cheatham started all 10 games, finishing third on the team in both scoring (31) and rebounding (31) while leading the squad in assists.
Cheatham, who has signed to play professionally in Puerto Rico this coming season, helped the Big Ten/MAC team go 5-2 in pool play to earn a bye into Sunday's quarterfinals.
