The Husker women’s basketball team is 2⁄3 of the way through a triumvirate of games against ranked teams. Last Saturday, the Husker women lost a heartbreaker to #23 Michigan in overtime 69-64. Last night, they knocked off #20 Iowa at home 74-65 behind 19 points from Maddie Simon, 18 from Hannah Whitish and 12 from Taylor Kissinger. This is despite Nebraska only going 17 of 35 (.486) from the free throw line.
Not only does this team rank dead last in the Big Ten in free throw %, they are rapidly approaching the cellar of all NCAA Division 1 teams.
