Five pitchers combined to pitch six shutout innings in the Red team's 3-0 against the White in Game 1 of the Red-White Series on Friday at Haymarket Park.
Max Schreiber (two innings), Ethan Frazier (one), Tyler Martin (one), Caleb Feekin (one) and Trey Kissack (one) each pitched for the Red squad.
The Reds got on the board with a solo blast from freshman Spencer Schwellenbach to center field in the fourth inning.
In the fifth inning, the Red team tacked on another run when Kennet Sorenson singled before rounding the bases on Blake Peterson’s hit. Jaxon Hallmark doubled in the leadoff spot in the sixth and scored later in the inning.
