But as much credit as Nebraska's closer deserved in Wednesday's 11-10 win over Oral Roberts to help the Huskers earn a split in Tulsa, Oklahoma, it wouldn't have been possible without the start offered by Nate Fisher.
"That was definitely a shot in the arm that we needed," said Nebraska head coach Darin Erstad of Fisher on the postgame radio show. "We needed a big start and we got it."
Fisher scattered five hits over four innings of work, allowing just one run (earned) and striking out three with zero walks. Hohensee, a Lincoln East graduate, put the finishing touches on the win with his four-out save, working out of an inherited bases-loaded jam and striking out two while just needing 18 pitches total for his fifth save in his eighth appearance of the season.
