Senior outfielder Tristen Edwards was named the Big Ten Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday. Edwards earned the award for the fourth time in her career, with her last Big Ten Player of the Week honor coming on Feb. 18, 2019. She also won the award twice as a sophomore in 2018.
The Murrieta, Calif., native was spectacular in Nebraska's opening weekend at the Troy Cox Classic in Las Cruces, N.M last weekend. Edwards started all five games and led the team at the plate going 7-for-16 (.438) with nine runs and five RBIs.
