A perfect night in Minneapolis for baseball saw a game between the Huskers, looking to stay in the running for first place in the league, and the Gophers, trying to get back in the race to make it to Omaha. Nebraska sent out their ace, Brett Sears, coming off a rough start against Iowa, while Minnesota countered with Will Semb.
Sears gave up an early run in the first inning to Minnesota just, like Iowa. This time though, he was able to regain his composure and strike out the next batter, keeping the damage to a minimum. That allowed Nebraska to come right back and tie it up in the top of the second, using 3 straight singles from Cole Evans, Case Sanderson, and Dylan Carey to tie the game at 1-1.
