Those who didn't get a chance to watch Garrett Nelson play out west during the regular season saw in the Class B state championship game at Memorial Stadium what the Scottsbluff native can bring to the table.
Nelson's energy and motor were at a high level in his team's game against Omaha Skutt, and it's a trait that stood out to Nebraska's coaching staff.
"Garrett’s one of those kids that’s all go, no stop," NU outside linebackers coach Jovan Dewitt said in a video released on the Huskers' Twitter account Wednesday.
Nelson's relentless pursuit produced 76 tackles for the 12-1 Bearcats.
