When Nebraska’s head men’s tennis coach job came open last month, Sean Maymi wanted to be on the radar of the group hiring the new coach.
That worked out well, because Maymi was already on the Huskers’ radar. From there things moved quickly for the former associate head coach of the Michigan men’s team. He accepted the job late last week, and the official announcement came Wednesday.
Maymi had sent an email to Nebraska saying he was interested in the job. At about the same time a Nebraska staffer had contacted an administrator at Michigan looking to talk with Maymi.
