Take it straight from Matt Davison and Steve Taylor: Nebraska’s football team is young and resilient and has the heart and chemistry to bounce back from the Huskers’ 33-28 loss to BYU, which completed a fourth-down Hail Mary pass that became NU’s first season-opening loss in 30 years.
The loss broke the nation’s longest season-opening home winning streak and broke the hearts of Husker fans who remember the positive Hail Mary ending in 2013 when Ron Kellogg III and Jordan Westerkamp delivered the first Hail Mary completion in Memorial Stadium history.
