CORVALLIS, Ore. — Jake Meyers does his best work on the mound during the weekend. Unfortunately for the Huskers, Meyers made a rare pitching outing on Friday in an NCAA Tournament Regional against Yale.
Meyers has been unbeatable as Nebraska’s No. 3 starter on Sunday. Eight of his 13 prior starts this season have come on Sunday. He was 4-0 in those games. He’s been nearly as good on Saturdays with a 4-1 mark — his only loss to top-ranked Oregon State back in his first start in February.
His first Friday appearance didn’t go smoothly as he allowed eight hits and four runs through the first four innings and didn’t make it out of the sixth inning.
