Cornhuskers Drop Game 2 to Huskies 6-3

What a difference 45-minutes makes. After a game with twenty hits, fifteen by Washington, and eleven for extra-bases, Game 2 turned into an old-fashioned pitcher’s duel between a couple of veteran hurlers.

Lefty Will Walsh was called on to set the tone for the Cornhuskers, and Washington put its top pitcher, Jackson Thomas on the mound.

Outside of a double in the second inning, Walsh had a clean sheet through five innings, including five strikeouts and only the one runner reaching base. He had all of his pitches working for him today and Husky hitters struggled to get a bead on him.
