Deiontae Watts, a touted defensive lineman from Plano, Texas, won't be part of the Nebraska football program any time in the near future.
A member of the Huskers' 2017 scholarship recruiting class, Watts is academically ineligible, according to Huskeronline.com. Although Watts reportedly double-signed with NU and Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College, his plans are unclear.
The 6-foot-3, 300-pound Watts, who starred for Plano East High School, was one of four scholarship defensive linemen signed by Nebraska in the class of 2017.
Meanwhile, the academic status of four-star cornerback Elijah Blades, also a member of Nebraska's 2017 class, remains uncertain.
