With the 15th pick in the 5th round the Los Angeles Chargers selected Brenden Jaimes, making him the first Husker to be drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. Jaimes is the first Husker offensive lineman to be drafted since Alex Lewis was taken in the 4th round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Los Angeles has made it a priority this offseason to upgrade their offensive line to help protect offensive rookie of the year Justin Herbert. After signing veteran center Corey Linsley and guard Matt Feiler the Chargers used the 13th overall pick to take Northwestern left tackle Rashawn Slater.
