Former Nebraska track and field athletes Marusa Cernjul (Slovenia) and Chad Wright (Jamaica) will compete over the next week at the IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Cernjul will begin competing for Slovenia in the high jump on Friday, Sept. 27, at 10:40 a.m. in the preliminary round. The finals of the women's high jump are slated for 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30.
Cernjul finished 21st at the Olympics in 2016, and she was 10th at the European Indoor Championships this year. Her lifetime best is 6-4 (1.93m) and her best mark in 2019 is 6-3 1/2 (1.
