Former Husker wrestler Jordan Burroughs finished 4-0 at the Freestyle World Cup and former Husker James Green was 3-1 as Iran's wrestling team defeated the United States in the gold-medal match Friday at the Freestyle World Cup in Tehran, Iran.
Burroughs, making his first appearance since the 2016 Rio Olympics, was one of two Americans to post a perfect 4-0 record during the tournament. Burroughs won by criteria over Georgia’s Jumber Kelashvili in his opening bout, 2-2. Trailing 1-0 after the first period in his second match against Russia’s Atsamaz Sanakoev, Burroughs steamrolled to a 10-1 win with a dominant second period.
